That’s a wrap on home life, time to try vanlife!

We've dreamt about traveling and living in a van since we got together almost 8 years ago and we can't believe it's finally happening! We officially closed on our sweet lil bungalow today and we're on our way to Vandoit to pick up a new campervan to start our 6 month cross country road trip!

We poured a lot of love into this home we called ‘Myrtle’ and she’s been so good to us. She held us safely for 7 years as we raised our teenage daughter here, got married living here, built our businesses, Outshine Adventures and Outshine Yoga here, survived the pandemic here, lost both of our rescue pups here, quit drinking here, Sunshine started their transition here, and the whole time we were surrounded by amazing neighbors, friends, family and a community that has supported us in so many ways. We’ve laughed, loved, cried, fought and made beautiful memories in this home. It’s bittersweet to be packing it all up, selling and moving away for good.

We’re so excited for the opportunity to live vanlife full time, but if we’re being completely honest, we’re a lil scared and overwhelmed with emotions too. It’s a big change selling our house and purging all our belongings to fit into a van and leave our daughters behind. We know it’s going to be uncomfortable, challenging and difficult but it’s also going to be amazing and so rewarding! Life is too short not to do the things that bring you joy and happiness!

Van pick up day is tomorrow at Vandoitco and we’re stoked to show off their new MOOV model and the new van wrap!! We hope you’ll follow our Nomad Be Happy vanlife adventures over the next 6 months!

Travel Guide: 24 Hours in Dinosaur National Monument

During this road tour we’re all for spontaneous detours that lead to epic adventures, and discovering Dinosaur National Monument on our way to Salt Lake City, blew our minds and our van doors wide open! This hidden gem wasn’t originally on our 6-month itinerary, but thanks to The Dyrt app, we found the Green River Campground and stumbled upon a fantastic stopover on our way from Steamboat Springs to Salt Lake City. Spend 24 hours camping and exploring Dinosaur National Monument with us!

Travel Guide: 24 Hours in Steamboat Springs, CO

The first stop on our 6 month road tour was in Steamboat Springs, CO to meet the Hala Crew and pick up two new paddle boards to use as we travel. We only had 24 hours to spend here and made the best of it by paddling the Yampa River, biking the Yampa River Core Trail, boon-docking and finding some pretty tasty restaurants.
