Whether you're new to mountain biking or been riding for years, there's always something new to learn and ways to improve your riding technique. This fundamentals clinic is great for beginners and intermediate riders who are looking to improve their riding ability and be a more efficient rider through formal instruction and skills practice with a PMBIA Certified Mountain Bike Instructor. The clinic is designed for riders of ALL abilities and will teach the foundational skills to take your riding to the next level. This class has something for everyone! What we will cover: -The “ready” position -Bike/body separation -Climbing techniques -Descending Techniques -Braking for control and speed -Navigating trail obstacles *The agenda of the clinic may change slightly based on what YOU want to work on. What to bring: A bike in good working order A helmet that fits properly, free of any cracks or tears Water Snacks A good attitude and a mindset to learn! All clinics meet at Raccoon Mountain, in the Laurel Point field at 8:30 a.m. EST. NOTE: time zone will change to Central when driving up the mountain. All times are in EASTERN STANDARD TIME. We will start with skills and drills (and maybe even some games!) in the field then put your new skills to the test for a short trail ride! About the instructor: Kat Volzer is a Professional Mountain Bike Instructor (PMBIA) and lives in Chattanooga, TN with her husband (Jake), her son (Heath), and two crazy trail dogs (Chicken and Waffles). Kat has been out on the trails mountain biking since she was a middle schooler. She teaches kids how to ride bikes and leads bicycle safety education programs in East Tennessee as the Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator through a federal grant. In a nutshell, if Kat isn’t out riding and/or camping, she’s getting other people out riding (and hopefully smiling too!)
Custom made paddleboard adventure for the SheVentures Camp Leaders! We will explore a section of the Tennessee River Gorge starting at Suck Creek Boat Ramp. This launch point has a mild river current and scenic views. Your guide will provide all the equipment and instruction for this 2-hour guided paddleboard adventure.

The Hemlock Hideaway Cabin offers a queen bed and twin size bunk beds. Minimum of 2 persons must be selected at checkout. Per person price decreases when groups of 3 or 4 are willing to share. Total number of people selected at checkout decreases the price from $779 double occupancy to $669 triple occupancy and only $559/person quad occupancy.
